ENAP Refinerías S.A. is a privately held company and a subsidiary of ENAP, established on January 1, 2004, through the merger of Petrox S.A., Refinería de Petróleo, and Refinería de Petróleo Concón S.A. (RPC S.A.), with the latter being merged into the former. On December 23, 2003, the boards of directors of both companies also agreed that the new company would voluntarily comply with the legal regulations applicable to publicly traded corporations.
As of June 25, 2004, Enap Refinerías S.A. is registered with the Securities and Insurance Superintendency under number 833. As a result, the company is obliged to regularly report its financial statements and significant events to the market and provide this information in accordance with the legal standards applicable to publicly traded corporations.
Enap Refinerías S.A. operates under the functional authority of the Refining and Commercialization Management, an area within ENAP responsible for carrying out activities related to the acquisition and refining of crude oil for the production of fuels and other petroleum derivatives. It also manages the logistical infrastructure for the transportation, storage, and subsequent sale of these products to distribution companies in the domestic market.
