Enap provides a gymnasium to the community of Hualpén

The República del Perú School received the keys to the 1,113 square meter sports facility, with a multi-purpose court, bathrooms, and dressing rooms, which will benefit the children of the school.

With the participation of local authorities, neighbors, students, parents, and guardians, as well as workers and executives, Enap delivered a modern gymnasium that will be part of the sports infrastructure of the República del Perú School and the entire school community of Hualpén.

The facility, which together with its equipment required an investment of more than Ch$1,200 million, has a surface area of 1,113 square meters for the use of close to 400 students of the República del Perú School and the entire Hualpen community, as it is a municipal gymnasium.

Its construction is part of the commitments acquired with the community of Hualpén, as part of the area of direct influence and neighboring the operations of the Bío Bío refinery.

The new gymnasium will be used for different sports disciplines, such as baby soccer, basketball, and volleyball. It includes a total of 280 seats in bleachers, dressing rooms, and bathrooms, as well as equipment such as soccer goals, volleyball nets, and basketball, soccer, and volleyball balls.

The CEO of ENAP, Julio Friedmann, thanked, in particular, those who collaborated in making this project a reality and emphasized that "it is a source of pride for our company to give this gymnasium to the community and the Municipality of Hualpén so that it can be used by the whole community, and especially by the children. We hope that this and other projects will contribute to promoting the social and economic development of this community in which we are inserted as a company."

Along with appreciating the delivery of the gymnasium, the mayor of Hualpén, Miguel Rivera, emphasized that "building spaces like this is a victory over crime, a victory over drugs. It is a win-win for everyone and, for that reason, we are deeply grateful."

Meanwhile, the principal of the República del Perú School, Elizabeth Oporto, emphasized that the gymnasium is of great importance. "This is a felt need that for years and many generations has been dreamed of and, today, it has materialized, and that has an incalculable value for us. We are happy and thank those who made this possible. Mainly to our neighbors and the Enap refinery for this great investment, and to all the efforts of the local authorities and different social actors".

Finally, Rodrigo Vivallos, manager of Enap Refinería Bío Bío, said "Today we are proud to take a big step in the community and fulfill the dream of our neighbors and hundreds of children, who will have a space specially enabled to practice different sports and disciplines in which we hope that, in the future, they can stand out and represent our community."
