Enap boosts its logistics business and signs contract with Oxiquim

The agreement will come into effect in 2026 and it involves infrastructure in Región del Biobío.

The National Petroleum Company (Enap) and Oxiquim reached an agreement to promote the development of new infrastructure that will strengthen and provide greater flexibility to Enap's logistics, granting greater resilience to the country's supply chain.

Within this framework, both companies signed an agreement that will allow for the transfer and storage of fuels at the Oxiquim Escuadrón Maritime Terminal, located in the municipality of Coronel, in Región del Biobío. This operation is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2026.

The agreement is consistent with ENAP's recent announcement to consolidate its logistics business as a key pillar of the company, incorporating strategic partners and high service standards. This is based on the fact that ENAP has logistics assets exceeding US$3 billion and that its operations span from Arica to Punta Arenas.

"Our emphasis on logistics is aimed at promoting a model that optimizes the company's long-term value and profitability, as well as understanding that Enap's role is to coordinate a more efficient, sustainable, and resilient network capable of responding to the challenges faced by individuals, industries, companies, and our country. Within this framework, some of the main areas of work in the immediate term are to generate greater storage capacity and to develop future partnerships with third parties, always for the purpose of strengthening fuel supply throughout the territory," pointed out Enap's general manager, Julio Friedmann.

Cecilia Pardo, Oxiquim's general manager, highlighted that "in a context of limited infrastructure available for fuel storage and difficulty in executing new projects, this new investment by Oxiquim now in the region, will not only allow us to expand existing logistics for our customers. Likewise it will allow continue contributing to the operation of the national energy system through a modern, reliable, efficient operation aligned with the highest standards of safety and environmental care." She also added that this will allow the company to continue consolidating its position as the leading independent player in maritime terminal services for fuels and liquid bulk in Chile.
