Environmental Management

ENAP's Environmental Management strategy focuses on the timely identification and control of environmental risks, compliance with current legislation, and the development of plans and actions to compensate and mitigate the impacts of operations on neighboring communities and the environment in general.

The company has environmental monitoring programs that allow for proactive monitoring and verification of compliance with general and sector-specific regulations applicable to its operations.

ENAP's exploration, production, and refining activities are based on international environmental management standards. The operations of MDC at Enap SIPEC and Pampa del Castillo-La Guitarra, in Sipetrol Argentina, successfully renewed their ISO 14001:2008 certification.

ENAP completed an assessment study of commitments and the level of legal environmental compliance of all its operations in Chile. This study systematized the contents of all Environmental Qualification Resolutions, tracking the commitments of each of them and defining procedures for continuous monitoring and control.

Environmental Licensing Management

ENAP committed to the environmental authority to upload the list of its Environmental Qualification Resolutions (EQR) to the portal designed for this purpose by the Superintendency of the Environment (SMA, http://snifa.sma.gob.cl) in 2013, thus becoming part of the first virtual library of environmental commitments in Latin America.
