The signing with Shell Chile completes the application of the commercial policy whose objective is to program fuel sales.

With the signing of the one-year contract with the distributor Shell Chile, ENAP concluded the process of signing new contracts with the country’s fuel-distribution companies, following the start of application on December 1, 2009 of a new commercial policy.

The contract was signed by the chairman of Shell Chile, Rodrigo Infante, and the chief executive officer of ENAP, Rodrigo Azócar, in a simple ceremony at ENAP’s head office in Santiago.

The contract was also signed by the manager of ENAP’s Refining and Logistics Division and the general manager of Enap Refinerías S.A., Carlos Cabeza. Also present were ENAP’s commercial manager ENAP, Julio Bertrand, the legal manager, Patricio Véliz, and the procurement and legal department managers of Shell, Pablo Gómez and Juan Eduardo López respectively.

Similar contracts have been previously signed with the distributors Terpel, Petrobras, JLC, HN, Cabal, Santa Elena and Copec.

Shell’s country chairman, Rodrigo Infante, said that ENAP is our preferred fuel supplier and we have reasons to be satisfied with the signing of this contract”.

Rodrigo Infante added that the contract provides more transparency to Chile’s fuels market “because, up until now, there was no equalitarian treatment for all ENAP’s customers. From now on, Shell and ENAP will concentrate their concerns on seeking new business opportunities, which constitute the true sense of good commercial relations”.

ENAP’ chief executive, Rodrigo Azócar, explained that the principal objective of ENAP’s new commercial policy is “to sell its products under one-year contracts in order to plan and guarantee the delivery of fuels in the volumes and term our customers program according to consumers’ demand, an indispensable requirement for ENAP, while optimizing both the refining and logistics operations which will allow it to offer discounts for programming”.

Rodrigo Azócar added that “for ENAP it is very satisfactory to have concluded this process with Shell as it is one of our most important customers. Our company will therefore be able to provide a better and more stable service on conditions favorable to both parties”.

“I wish to thank Shell, in particular its country chairman in Chile, Rodrigo Infante, for their readiness to understand our position, whose purpose is to seek points of convergence that enable us to continue building better commercial relations in the future”, concluded Rodrigo Azócar.
