Principles

ENAP’s development is also Chile’s development. The whole country is ENAP’s working horizon, and citizens are the main receptors of its contribution to well-being.

The Company has assumed Social Responsibility from a perspective of sustainable development in the hydrocarbons and energy business, both internally and externally.  Within this context, ENAP makes significant contributions to the society, among them its primary obligation of making contributions to the Government; the investment in resources to improve the quality of fuels and to minimize the environmental impact of its operations; as well as contributing to the economic, social and cultural development of the regional and local communities where its subsidiaries and operating units are located, either in Chile or abroad.

In this sense, ENAP adheres to the international standards on Entrepreneurial Social Responsibility, by respecting the following international conventions:

The Company abides by the national legislation, and by any other international law pertinent to the respect of people, the employees, the environment and its animal and vegetal species, as well as the sustainable development to guarantee the well-being of the future generations.

ENAP also abides by the principles established in the following international instruments:

• Universal Declaration of Human Rights
• United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
• United Nations Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women
• Conventions and Recommendations by the International Labor Organization (ILO).
• Principles of the United Nations Global Compact
