Building of Aconcagua Refinery’s New Alkylation Unit

This project will produce alkylate, a sulphur-free high-octane compound; benzene; aromatics; and olefins at low vapor pressure for the formulation of gasolines that meet the specifications using butane olefins available, which currently are exported to the Pacific Coast markets.

This project has an estimated outlay of US$ 248.7 million and an NVP (10%) of US$ 32.7 million.

During 2011 were carried out the ompletion of detail engineering and equipment and materials acquisition, the development of civil works and the electromechanical assembly of the unit, and the beginning of the interconnections. During these days, the last details of the construction of the complex are being closed and in parallel, progress is made in the stages of pre-commissioning and commissioning. Between August and September, the new plant will start operations and initiate the final testing phase, which generally aims to ensure that the guarantees of licensors are met, mainly with regard to production capacity and quality of the product obtained.
