RefiningENAP Refinerías

BÍO BÍO Refining Plant

At Bío Bío Refining Plant the main crude and supplementary load processing plants are: Topping and Vacuum I, Topping and Vacuum II, Visbreaking, Catalytic Cracking, Continuous Catalytic Reforming, Ethylene, Diesel 1 Hydrotreatment, Diesel 2 Hydrotreatment, Hydrocracking, Benzene Saturation, Izomerization, Propylene Separator and Purifier, CHT Hydrogen Plant (owned by BOC Chile S.A.), Delayed Coking (Coker), Diesel Hydrotreatment (HDT) owned by Petropower Energía Limitada, Bío Bío Hydrogen Plant, co-ownership with Sigdo Koppers S.A, Gas Oil Soft Hydrocracking Plant (MHC) co-ownership with Técnicas Reunidas y Ferrostaal.

Also, there are Merox treatment plants for kerosene, fuel and liquefied gas, Sodium Sulfhydrate plant, Sulfur Recovery, Gas Treatment, Acid Water Treatment, Oily Water Treatment, Diesel Desulfurization, refrigeration water, steam and electric energy supply, storage tanks for crude oil, intermediate and final products.

Other industrial facilities are oil pipelines for the transportation of finished products from the Refining Plant to San Fernando city, which is connected to Sonacol oil pipeline (San Fernando-Maipú) and pumping stations at Bío Bío Refining Plant, Chillán and Molina; oil pipelines between the Refining Plant and San Vicente Maritime Terminal for the transportation of crude oil and finished products; inner pipes from the tanks zone to the processing plants, and from there to intermediate and final products tanks; gas pipeline for the reception and delivery of liquefied gas; motor pumps to deliver products from the Refining Plant to San Fernando and San Vicente; motor pumps at San Vicente for maritime shipment of products and the reception of imported crude by maritime shipment; chemical laboratory; facilities and station for the Emergency Response Squad staff, which operates with volunteer permanent employees; specialized maintenance and repair workshops for all plants; emergency electric equipment based on diesel and natural gas, and interconnection system of natural gas to be used as fuel in boilers and furnaces (steam generation).
