An oil refining plant is an industrial plant, where crude oil is processed and refined to obtain higher value by- products, such as liquefied gas, fuel, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil, base for lubricants, base for asphalts and petcoke.

Oil refining plants are large-area industrial complexes, with several pipeline outlines to carry fluids flow between two units.
