International Benchmarking: Solomon Associates

Since 1990 the Refining Line of Business, through Aconcagua and Bío Bío Refining Plants, participates in an international benchmarking study carried out by consultant Solomon Associates Inc.  This is a comparative study on the results of oil refining plants at different geographic zones, as well as their size and complexity, which intends to measure and monitor the quality of the efforts to achieve the business objectives.

Such study is performed every two years and the reports correspond to North and South America Refining Plants, which is the participation group of ENAP refining plants, but comparisons are also made with refining plants of Europe, Africa, Middle East and Japan.

Indicators related to energy, staff, maintenance, operational costs, refining processes and economic indicators are analyzed. The results are analyzed, to become the basis for continuous improvement actions of the Refining Plants processes.
