Aconcagua Refinery

The principal crude and complementary load processing plants at this refinery are: Topping and Vacuum I, Topping and Vacuum II, Visbreaking, Catalytic Cracking, Continuous Reformation, Smooth Hydrocracking (two plants), Hydro-desulfurization of diesel and gasoline, Alquilation, Solvents, Sulfuric Acid, Isomerization, DIPE (jointly owned with Éteres y Alcoholes S.A.), Sulfur (jointly with Petrosul S.A.) and Hydrogen (jointly with AGA), Retarded Coker Complex (jointly with Enercón).

There are also Merox treatment plants for turpentine and kerosenes, gas and greasy water treatment facilities, a supplies plant, a close water-refrigeration system; torches system, oil pipelines between the refinery and the Quintero port terminal; internal pipe systems from the tanks area to processing plants and from these to the intermediate and end product tanks; pumping zone for sending products from the refinery; Quintero port terminal with crude and product tanks, pumping zones and four anchorages including a mono-buoy type for Suezmax ships; chemical laboratory; truck loading yard; installations for personnel of the Emergency Response Brigade; station of the Fire Company for 24-hour shifts; fire wagons and equipment and elements for fire-fighting; specialized maintenance and repair workshops for all the plants; emergency electricity equipment based on diesel and gas fuel; and a natural-gas interconnection system to be used as fuel in boilers and ovens (steam generation).
